Baby #2: 25 Weeks

baby's size: Cauliflower!

how I'm feeling: Tired! You're supposed to have more energy in the second trimester right? I guess because our little girl is so small, my body is using all of my energy to grow her. Which I am grateful for. I can tell she is growing: my belly is growing and her kicks have gotten a lot stronger and more consistent. But I am definitely missing that energy I remember having with Cullen.

best moment this week: Cullen's birthday party. He had the best time with his friends and family. I loved getting to celebrate him!

what I'm looking forward to: Getting our little girl's nursery ready! We are finally at a point where we can start prepping for her arrival and am thrilled!

Cullen's First Haircut

Friday, January 23, 2015
Yesterday, at just over two years old, Cullen got his first haircut. I pushed it off as long as possible. I didn't want to cut those sweet little curls, but at this point, he basically had a mullet. His bangs were constantly in his eyes, and I couldn't put it off any longer. I feel like this was the last step in turning him into a little boy. Having not had a haircut yet, it still felt like he was my little baby. Now he seems so grown up.

Cullen truly had the best time. He let the stylist shampoo his hair, was all smiles the whole time she was cutting his hair, and cheesed it up for a mid-cut mohawk. I think he would have stayed there all night if he could just keep playing in the car and flirting with the stylists.

For being so wonderful, he got to take home a balloon and some jelly beans. And I think he is pretty proud of his new look. I am pretty proud of this handsome little boy too!

Cullen's Birthday Weekend

Thursday, January 22, 2015
Since we aren't having Cullen's party until this weekend, we decided to do as much as possible to make his birthday weekend extra special.

Saturday, his actual birthday, was a pretty low-key day. Cullen and I hung around the house (and played outside) while Corey worked. Then when Corey got home, we ran out to target to get an Icee. I may have needed to pick up a few things too, but Cullen didn't mind since he got to slurp on an Icee (my secret for making Target runs as smooth as possible.)

After church on Sunday, we spent a few hours playing at the park. Cullen loved the swings and slide, but he was beyond thrilled to just run around the wide open fields and try to pet all of the dogs.

This was one of the best weekends we have had together as a family. No stress, no worries, just us having a great time together doing what we love. Happy Birthday to my little boy. I hope you had as much fun celebrating as we did!

Baby #2: 24 Weeks

baby's size: Cantaloupe!

how I'm feeling: Large. This little girl (or at least my belly) has really grown over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully that means this little one is growing lots!

best moment this week: Cullen's 2nd birthday was Saturday, and we had the best weekend together!

what I'm looking forward to: Cullen's birthday party is on Saturday. I can't wait to celebrate with him again. I know he will have a blast with all of his family!

Cullen is 2!!!

Monday, January 19, 2015
Yep, that's right. I can't believe it either. My little boy is two years old. Give me a minute while I wrap my head around that...

OK. So I have a two year old. And I have to say, He is one pretty awesome little boy!

I've said it before, but he constantly keeps us laughing. I never know what is going to come out of his mouth next. The way he answers questions and responds to our answers is absolutely hysterical; his responses range from "" to "Oh yeah, that's right, that's right". I feel like I have a teenager in my house already.

Despite being wild and sassy, he is also the sweetest little boy in the world (but I might be a little biased.) He loves to give hugs and kisses (to dogs as well as his family) and to hear him say "I love you" melts my heart every single time.

Foods: Chick-fil-a lemonade. Okay, so technically that is a drink, but he gets so excited for "more 'nade" whenever he sees a take-out cup, always hoping it's his favorite lemonade. Overall, he is a very picky eater. We still can't get him to eat a meat or vegetable (without sneaking them into other foods like muffins.) For now, we offer what we eat, and make sure he gets as much good food as possible.

Activities/Toys: The toys he plays with most are Legos (Duplos) and any kind of vehicle. He loves anything with wheels or propellers. But Cullen would pass up any toy for a chance to run around outside. I am beyond thrilled that he loves being outside so much and is such an active little boy.

Shows: Curious George. But lately he has been into Octonauts almost as much. Almost.

Phrases: "Oh yeah, that's right!"
" about.."(usually said with his finger on his chin)
"What's that" (a question that is only slightly less annoying than "why" when asked 100
                                         times in a row)

I am excited to see what the next year will bring and who this little boy will grow up to be!

Baby #2: 23 Weeks

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

baby's size: Grapefuit!

how I'm feeling: Like with Cullen, the 2nd trimester is treating me pretty well. I feel like a non-pregnant lady except with a rounder belly. My only complaint right now, is that I can't start working on the nursery yet. I'm making plans and itching to get to work on this little girl's room and Cullen's big boy room, but I have to wait a couple more weeks. I'm just afraid I'm going to run out of time and energy if I have to wait too much longer!

best moment this week: We got to see out little girl again last Thursday and think we have figured out why she is so small! It's nice to finally be getting some answers; and the plan for now is to keep monitoring her growth and make sure I eat as much as possible (especially protein!)

what I'm looking forward to: Cullen's 2nd birthday is Saturday and we are having his party the next weekend. I can't believe he is already two! We can't wait to celebrate!

Baby #2: 22 Weeks

Wednesday, January 7, 2015

baby's size: papaya!

how I'm feeling: A little tired. It's been a little difficult to get back into our normal routine after almost two weeks off. I better get it together soon; I have a certain little boy's birthday party to plan and a lot to accomplish over the next few months!

best moment this week: It has been a pretty uneventful week, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Cullen and I got to spend a lot of time together when I was off work!

what I'm looking forward to: Our next ultrasound is tomorrow! Excited to see our little girl and hopefully find out why she is so little!
